5 Reasons to Spend Your Spring Break at the Ark

by Ark Encounter on March 9, 2017

With spring just around the corner, many schools will be on break soon. As you begin thinking about your family’s spring break plans, consider visiting the life-size Noah’s Ark this year. Here are five reasons to come to the Ark Encounter for your spring break.

Learn Why the Bible Is True

We recently opened our newest exhibit at the Ark Encounter, Why the Bible Is True. Here, your family will follow three college students as they explore questions about the truth of God’s Word and why there is death and suffering in this world. This expansive exhibit, which takes up a large section of the bow end of the Ark Encounter’s third deck, also uses the “doors” featured in the Bible to present the gospel (John 10:9).

Why the Bible Is True

Equip your family with solid biblical answers to many of the skeptical questions facing our culture as you walk through this stunning exhibit and the rest of the Ark Encounter.

Fly Through the Air

Take your Ark Encounter visit to the next thrill level by taking a ride on the Screaming Eagle Aerial Adventure zip lines, which will reopens mid-March. The zip lines are a family-friendly activity. Participants must be at least eight years old for the zip lines, and children as young as four years old can participate in Tier 1 of the Eagles Nest Aerial Adventure! If you experienced the Level 1 zip line course last year, you won’t want to miss Level 2 this year.

Meet Our New Animals

When you visit, don’t forget to head to the Ararat Ridge Zoo, which is located behind the Ark and is included with your Ark admission. This year, we have several new animals for you to meet, including our hairy armadillo, pygmy hedgehog, joeys, and more. You can learn more about the joeys in the blog “Meet the Ararat Ridge Zoo Kangaroos!

While you are enjoying the Ararat Ridge Zoo, you can also take advantage of the opportunity to ride a camel with a breathtaking view of the Ark in the background. Imagine what it was like to live in biblical times when you saddle up for this family-friendly activity.

Take Your Time

Beginning March 1, we have extended hours to give you more time to experience all that the Ark Encounter has to offer. Between now and May 31, we are open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon until 7 p.m. on Sunday. Take your time soaking in the biblical truths that your family will be exposed to during your visit.
