FREE Musical Event

On July 4th, BJUgrass will be performing a FREE special concert in the Answers Center at the Ark Encounter. The one-hour concert starts at 6:00 p.m. Parking is FREE for this event after 4:00 p.m.

* They will also perform at the Answers Center during daily programming on July 3 and July 5.

From the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, BJUgrass found its beginning as a jam session in the president’s office of Bob Jones University. Since 2017, BJUgrass has been bringing enjoyable and quality bluegrass music to churches and venues all over the Eastern United States. BJUgrass strives to produce music that allows them to glorify God with their talents while spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The only bluegrass group consisting of one university president and five university students, BJUgrass is made up of Dr. Steve Pettit (mandolin), Abby Plew (guitar, pennywhistle, lead & harmony vocals), Danielle Boyle (fiddle, lead & harmony vocals), Josh Hall (bass), Grace Aaron (guitar, lead & harmony vocals), Carson Aaron (guitar, banjo, mandolin, dobro, lead & harmony vocals), and Caleb Rollins (lead & harmony vocals, banjo, and guitar).

In the spring of 2021, BJUgrass released its first recording, “Wherever You Are,” which can be found on all digital streaming platforms. They have also been showcased at the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) World of Bluegrass Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina (2019, 2020).

This event is free.
