Explore Jr. Botany

And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plant yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” (Genesis 1:11)

God created a wide variety of plants to produce after their kind. Explore Jr. Botany at the Ark will investigate the beauty and design of the plant kingdom through a behind-the-scenes experience with the horticulture staff at the Ark Encounter green houses.

• Open to students ages five to ten.
• One parent is required to accompany their child and is responsible for transportation to and from the event.
• Explore Jr. is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Due to parking and bus transportation to the Ark Encounter, recommended arrival time is 8:30 a.m.
• Please keep in mind that some of our activities are contingent upon weather. This event is rain or shine.

Each student registered for two or more Explore or Explore Jr. programs between September 2025 and April 2026 will receive two free Butterfly House tickets.

• $39.98/student (Ark Encounter general admission is not required or included.)
• Includes all scheduled programs and parking fee.
• Price includes one student (age five to ten) and one parent. Additional students are $19.98 each.
