And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plant yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” (Genesis 1:11)

God created a wide variety of plants to produce after their kind. Explore Botany at the Ark will investigate the beauty and design of the plant kingdom through a behind-the-scenes experience with the horticulture staff at the Ark Encounter green houses.

  • Parent will be responsible for transportation to and from the location.
  • Open to students ages 11 to 18.
  • Explore Botany is a 3-hour program scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Due to parking and bus transportation to the Ark Encounter, recommended arrival time is 12:30 p.m.
  • Please keep in mind that some of our activities are contingent upon weather. This event is rain or shine.
  • Availability is limited, so sign up today!

The Explore Days program is on a four-year rotating schedule. Each Explore Day includes a minimum of three hands-on, interactive sessions. The yearly topics are provided in the schedule below.

Pricing & Registration

  • $24.99/student (Ark Encounter general admission is not required or included)
  • Includes scheduled programs and parking fee.
  • Price includes one student (age 11 to 18). Additional students are $24.99 each.
