Portions of the proceeds from the Macropod Experience will be donated to Samaritan’s Purse as they work to meet the needs of people in Oceania, the native range of macropods.

Q: What is included in the Macropod Experience?
A: During your Macropod Experience, you will meet our red kangaroos and Bennett’s wallabies up close. You may feed them, touch them, and take photos with them while asking the zookeepers any questions you have. You will then receive a souvenir to remember your experience.
Q: Can I touch the kangaroos and wallabies?
A: Yes, you may touch the kangaroos or wallabies who approach you on their backs at the discretion of their zookeepers.
Q: Can I take pictures during the Macropod Experience?
A: You may take photos throughout your Macropod Experience under the direction of the zoo staff. Zoo staff may also take photos for you upon request.
Q: Where does the Macropod Experience take place?
A: The Macropod Experience will begin at the Ararat Ridge Zoo’s Animal Actors Stage. Guests will then be escorted by zoo staff to the kangaroo walkabout for their experience. In the event of inclement weather, the experience will take place inside one of their barns.
