Laying the Groundwork

by Ark Encounter on August 15, 2014

It’s a dirty job, but somebody’s got to do it.

What an exciting week for the Ark Encounter! Huge scrapers and bulldozers arrived on the property and the work of excavation has begun in earnest.

The hill on which the 510-foot-long Ark will eventually sit is being lowered by over twenty feet in some places, while the deep valley nearby is being filled in. All of this is in preparation for the God-honoring, evangelistic Ark Encounter slated to open in 2016.

Here are some pictures to help you see how much work has already been done.

It’s thrilling to be a part of the Ark Encounter, and we are all excited to see how God will use it to reach this world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Please pray for the safety and work of everyone involved in this amazing project.
