Largest Timber Frame Structure Named a Must See

Recently, the Ark Encounter has been mentioned in news articles written about “must-see” places to visit in 2016. One such article listed us with eight other “awesome attractions opening in 2016.” It was really exciting to see us listed with other attractions from around the world, but it mentioned that the Ark would be “the largest wooden structure in the world.” Actually, according to more knowledgeable people, like the folks from Colorado Timber Frame, we can call ourselves the largest timber frame structure in the world.

Regardless, this will be the biggest wooden structure that the vast majority of our guests will ever encounter. People from the Eastern United States, especially those from urban areas, may have never seen trees so wide and tall.

We invite you to learn in this video about how these timbers were harvested responsibly from trees that had already died.

Not only will people want their picture taken with the Ark in the background, we imagine plenty of people will insist on having their photos taken standing next to (if not hugging) a huge tree used as a support beam.
