Making Progress

by Ark Encounter on July 29, 2015

If you have been keeping up with the Ark construction blogs, you are very familiar with the term bent. As of last week, there were as many as seven bents in place with four to six more half bents scheduled to go up per week. In the meantime, masons are working on all three towers. Currently, two of the towers are up to approximately 50 feet tall and will eventually reach about 75 feet.

Concrete on Decks 2 and 3 in the center and east towers has been completed. Ground-level concrete floors and the gift shop floor will be poured this week. Following that, the concrete pad foundations for the stern and bow will be poured.

Here is a description of the other work currently taking place: the plumbers are doing the rough in work; heavy timber installation is going on now at grids 23, 24, and 25 portside; and there is continued installation of sewer pipe down at the creek.

Do you remember that utility pole stuck up at the original surface level? Well, that finally is about to be removed and relocated.

Come check out the building of a replica of what should have been listed a great wonder of the world, especially since it was used to save humans and land animals from total annihilation.
